On the May 24 weekend DSWAC held a dry laid retaining wall workshop north of Port Hope Ontario. The students were invited to participate in a hands-on course building a beautiful terraced surround using 'squared up' reclaimed barn foundation stones.
The property where this two day weekend course took place was a beautiful five acre property with sculpture garden, trails, pond and lovely gardens. This was a beginners course with students coming from as far away as Montreal, Kingston and the States. One of our students came all the way from Wisconsin to attend. All the students enjoyed the weekend event and many said they would come again to attend a similar DSWAC activity. Walling is a creative healthy relaxing low impact craft that leaves beautiful garden features and installations in the landscape that last forever.
